Markets to remain closed on 4th April for Mahavir Jayanti

In honor of Mahavir Jayanti, a significant Jain festival celebrating the birth of Lord Mahavir, the markets will remain closed on Tuesday, 4th April 2023. This holiday is observed by the Jain community throughout India and marks an important day in their calendar.

The stock market will remain closed on this day, and trading will resume on Wednesday, 5th April 2023. However, the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will be closed only for the morning session and will resume operations for the second session from 5 PM to 11:30 PM.

Any fund withdrawal requests placed on 4th April 2023 will be processed on the following day, 5th April 2023. Additionally, the credit bill amount for equity, F&O, or MCX segments on 3rd April 2023 will not be available for trading or withdrawal purposes until 4th April 2023.
